Audition Results and Level Placement

Auditioning students are placed in levels equivalent to their maturity and technical development. Audition results with level placement and tuition will be emailed between three to seven days after the audition date. Each applicant's daily schedule is determined after July 19th, the first day of the Intensive.

General Curriculum

Classical Ballet Technique, Pointe, Floor Barre, Pas de Deux, Choreography Composition, Yoga, Contemporary, Repertory, Variations, Character, Music, Stretch and Strengthening, Nutrition, Weight Training for men. Each student’s curriculum may vary depending on each student’s level placement.

Beginning to Advanced Pointe

Students accepted into beginning pointe are required to take the entire Intensive. Bring your new pointe shoes, pointe ribbon, toe pads, needle, thread, elastic, and scissors.

Days and Hours

Intermediate dancers train 20 to 26 hours per week
Advanced dancers train 32 to 40 hours per week

Student Presentation is held on Friday, August 13 at 2:00 – 3:00pm

Tuition varies depending on each applicant's level placement

Four weeks: $1150 - $1400
Weekly: $500


Family rate is 5% off the total tuition.

Pas de Deux for advanced female dancers who qualify
Shared professional male partners are hired at an additional $25 per hour per applicant.

Intensive attire for ladies

Black leotard, pink tights and ballet slippers. Hair neatly up away from the face and neck. No ponytails except for Floor Barre classes. No nail polish, post earrings are fine, no jewelry. Free Dress is held every Friday.

Intensive attire for Men

White t - shirts, black tights, black ballet shoes

What to bring

Water, notebook, pencil, towel, white sport socks, yoga mat, lunch, snacks

Optional field trip

Saturday, July 31 in beautiful Carmel, CA. http://www.carmelcalifornia.com Students visit educational Art Galleries, experience the famous Bach Festival http://www.bachfestival.org, and enjoy a picnic lunch at the Carmel beach with their friends. Separate costs and details to be determined during the intensive.

DTI Summer 2010 Terms and Conditions

All fees are non – refundable, may not be pro – rated or transferred unless workshops or classes are cancelled. Declined or expired cards are charged and extra $5 per $100.

General Release

Dance Theatre International , a California incorporation, its agents, owners, officers, members, volunteers, participants, employees, contractors, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on its behalf shall be referred to herein as Dance Theatre International.

I am not a minor and I acknowledge that by being a participant at Dance Theatre International related activities, I will have the opportunity to participate in various physical activities. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume the risk of all such damages, to include all related costs thereof that occur during or in connection with my participation in any and all Dance Theatre International related activities. My participation is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks. It is my responsibility to seek my physician’s advice before participating. In consideration of the services of Dance Theatre International, I on behalf of myself forever discharge, and expressly agree to indemnity and hold harmless Dance Theatre International of and from any and all liability, claim, duty, obligation, demand or cause of action relating to or in any way connected with my participation in any and all Dance Theatre International related activities, whether presently known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, including, without limitation ,any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Dance Theatre International. I have adequate insurance to cover any damages I may cause or suffer while participating in dance or other Dance Theatre International related activities; I agree to bear the costs of such Damage myself. I hereby grant permission to Dance Theatre International to make movies, videos, and photographs of my involvement in any and all Dance Theatre International related activities and to use them for promotional and commercial purposes without any notice, recourse or compensation to me.
