What are the Ages 2 to 5 classes?
DTI's Ages 2 - 5 classes are for girls and boys. Creative Movement, Ballet/Tap and Pre-Ballet Basics students perform in our in - studio show in December and "Pixie Land" performed in June. Students enrolled in Ballet Basics perform in the "Midsummer Night's Dream" with the Ballet School Levels 1 to Level 7. June performances are held at the Evergreen Valley Performing Arts Theater. Please save the dates listed on our Calendar page.

Parents or guardians are required to stay in the facilities through the duration of class. Students are welcome to free dress in the dance attire of their choice during the last class of the month.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

This age - appropriate class builds children's listening, social, coordination and musical skills. Students learn simple stretching and beginner steps to promote body awareness. Students are encouraged to embrace their individuality through creative free dancing with fun props at the end of each class.
Girls' attire: Hair up, pink leotard and pink ballet shoes. Tights are not necessary.
Boys' attire: black ballet shoes; black t-shirt; black tights; black socks
Beginner (Age 2 - 3) Minimum of one class per week

CREATIVE BALLET

Develop your child's posture, rhythm and coordination. Simple ballet and tap vocabulary is introduced. Embrace creativity by free dancing with fun props at the end of each class.

Boys' attire: black ballet shoes; black t-shirt; black tights; black socks
Beginner (Ages 3 - 5) Minimum of one class per week

PRE - BALLET BASICS

Our new pre ballet basics level gives students with one year dance experience the opportunity to continue building their listening, social, coordination and musical skills. Students are introduced to more steps to promote body awareness. Students are encouraged to embrace their individuality through creative free dancing with fun props at the end of class.
Girls' attire: Hair up, light blue leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes.
Boys' attire: black ballet shoes; black t-shirt; black tights; black socks
Beginner (Ages 4- 5 with one year training) Minimum of one class per week

HIP HOP

Hip-hop dance refers to a social or choreographed dance style primarily danced to age - appropriate music. It is often freestyle (improvisational) in nature.
Girls' and boys' attire: plain black form-fitting shirt; black active pants or shorts (no jeans). Only non - marking, black soled sneakers are worn on the dance floor. (for sanitary and health reasons).
