AJ Llanes
A.J. Llanes has been trained in the art of hip-hop. For several years, A.J. has taken many hip hop classes in the bay area and has also joined numerous teams in San Jose. As of 2010, A.J. is currently on 3 dance teams and dances about 5 hours every day. A.J. had joined all the following hip-hop junior teams in San Jose: Future Shock San Jose, MVP San Jose, and A-youngin'. Future Shock San Jose (FSSJ) is a part of a national organization that performs in many showcases and is also one of the oldest, non-profit, youth teams in the bay area. MVP San Jose, a Jr. competition team, had taken 1st Place in the youth competition known as Battlefest New Schoolz on June 12, 2010. A-youngin' (AY), another competition team, had taken many victories in various competitions: Breakthough 2009 (3rd), World of Dance 2009 (3rd), and Collaboration Jr. Division 2010 (2nd). A.J.'s first adult team, that he is currently is on, is known as Wrawsome. They have also placed in competitions like Collaboration Adult Division 2010 (3rd) and Breakthrough 2010 (3rd). Throughout high school, A.J. has taught choreography to students at Evergreen Valley High School. A.J. along with his friends had created a hip-hop dance team project that performs at school on various occasions. Through this, A.J. has gained experience in creating choreography and teaching it as well. As a previous swim instructor, A.J. is an expert with working with students of different ages ranging from toddlers to adults. He has also acquired many teaching skills and tactics. As a dance instructor, A.J.'s goal for his students is to provide them with versatility and interpretation of artistic expressions in dance & to share his vision in the industry and dance community. He wants his students to strive for excellence and perfection. Not just in dance, but in our everyday life.
